Kaiser Permanente Hospital, West Los Angeles
Over the last couple of years Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West Los Angeles has embarked on a huge change in the work practice environment, as part of the Magnet Recognition Programme… significant changes impacting over 300 nurses, doctors and medical staff.
As part of this process, I was invited to the United States several times by the hospital to run a series of workshops, seminars and conference presentations in a variety of formats for all classifications of health workers, specialists and management. These focused on the key themes of effective communication, building effective teams, leadership, delegation and personal motivation – with a view to creating a widespread sense of involvement, and so transform the initial reluctance and resistance into an enthusiastic embracing of the whole Magnet Recognition Programme.
Specifically designed to be engaging, challenging and enjoyable, and presented to a delightful mixture of cultural and educational backgrounds, these sessions have been an unqualified success from all points of view.
With further workshops and seminars already in the pipeline, I am looking forward to again renewing my acquaintance with the delightful West Coast, and to extending this work to other earnest, pro-active organisations and places across the United States.
“It is my honor to extend this letter of reference for David.
I have known him since January 2002, both personally & professionally. It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I am writing to endorse the work that David has done for our Medical Center.”
