Rarotonga
The Cook Islands and South Pacific
Basking in the warm blue waters of the South Pacific, Rarotonga is perhaps one of the most idyllic locations ever to be asked to work!! The people are warm, friendly and receptive; the white coral sand beaches and waving coconut palms are a delight; the food is sensational, the pace of life less hectic and stressful, and the climate is the stuff dreams are made of.
And there’s rugby on the television!!
In conjunction with my good friend and colleague David Gollings (of Management Learning Associates), I have been involved in numerous training programmes and workshops for organisations up in the Cook Islands since 2001. Regular key clients include the Ministries of Justice and Finance, the Bank of the Cook Islands, Cook Islands Trading Company, Telecom Cook Islands, the Fire Service, Islandhopper Vacations, Edgewater & Pacific Resorts. Several years ago we also ran a very successful 5-day programme covering all aspects of Effective Communication for the Heads of Ministries from all the Outer Islands.
Run both as public workshops, or in-house, and specifically designed to be practical, participative, challenging and enjoyable, these ongoing sessions are presented to a delightful mixture of participants, with often quite varied areas of expertise, levels of experience and educational backgrounds. Nonetheless, these programmes have been an unqualified success every time, with post-session evaluations and feedback scoring satisfaction levels of over 98%!!
We have already organised and presented several sessions this year – a public two-day workshop on Team Leadership, and several one-day and evening sessions on Dealing with Difficult People, Train the Trainer, Time Management and Customer Service (both public and in-house). With further workshops and seminars already in the pipeline, both David & I are looking forward to again meeting up and working with our increasing number of friends and associates up in this idyllic island paradise.
